Dental Bridges in Surrey

Bridges

Bridges are the ideal solution if you have strains or missing teeth which results in trouble speaking or chewing. The gaps between teeth are connected by strong, artificial tooth that looks and functions like real tooth.

How a bridge is done:

Your dentist files down two healthy teeth on each side of the missing tooth to prepare for the bridge. If you do not have healthy teeth to support the bridge, a dental implant with an artificial root will be surgically placed. The implant serves as an anchor to support the bridge in place.

Then, impressions will be taken to make models of your teeth. A temporary bridge and a crown (cap) will be placed in your mouth to protect your exposed gums and teeth until the custom bridge is made. During your next visit to our dental clinic in Surrey, your temporary bridge will be replaced with the custom bridge.

Types of Dental Bridge

There are various types of dental bridges.

Traditional Bridges:are used if the missing tooth has two natural teeth beside it that are intact.

Implant Bridges: are used for Surrey patients if they do not have healthy teeth to support the bridge. The bridge will then be supported by implants that are surgically placed into the jawbone.
We will recommend the most appropriate type of bridge depending on your circumstances.

After Care:

Bridges are permanent after they are done. They can only be removed by your dentist. Regular brushing and flossing is needed to take care of them. They should generally last for longer than 10 years with good care. They are a good option if you are looking for a comfortable and beautiful smile.
